Luiz Felipe Scolari Takes Over as Chelsea Manager
June 12, 2008Chelsea have announed Luiz Felipe Scolari will be their new manager from next season. Scolari is currently in charge of Portugal in the Euro 2008 championships.
Scolari has a proven record, having taken Portugal to the final of Euro 2004, and winning the World Cup with Brazil in 2002.
He takes up his new position with Chelsea from 1st July, with his first competitive match coming on either the 15th or 16th of August with the opening on the Premiership.
This apointment ends weeks of speculation, with several managers being spoken to about the job.
We have previously written about Dider Deschamps being linked to the vacant position, as well as Guus Hiddink refusing to be considered for it.
